There is no window to open and nothing to check on. Glance up if you want the time; otherwise the clock just runs, and the thing you meant to be doing is still there in front of you.

Before the clock starts, IX asks what you're working on. What you write stays on screen while the time runs — so when you surface from a tangent and think what was I doing, the answer is already there, in your own words. There is only room for one sentence, which is the point. Put it wherever it's least in the way, or close it when you'd rather have the space.
